Chiropractors are natural healthcare physicians who specialize in nervous system function, body posture, and skeletal alignment. We do this by adjusting the bones in your spine and limbs, with quick movements and/or impulse instruments. Some chiropractors only adjust patients, and some add other treatments to reduce pain and condition the patient so their body retains good alignment and posture.

Chiropractic is the adjustment of joints of the skeletal system to reduced subluxation and misalignment, allowing better posture and nervous system function. It is done by a doctor of chiropractic, either manually with a quick thrust, or with an adjusting instrument.

Progressive Chiropractic is using the best of what is available to treat the problems and functional deficits that a patient has.  It goes beyond a "Flying Seven" (adjusting the neck and back each to the left and right,  and three adjustments up the thoracic spine) and a hot pack. Specific adjustments are utilized, as is the latest in postural and functional spinal exercise, spinal decompression, cranial adjusting, extremity adjusting, muscle and ligament mobilization, and more.  Electronic instrument adjusting is utilized when appropriate for results or when a patient desires a gentler yet effective chiropractic experience.

Dr. Putnam uses many adjusting techniques, some manual and some with a high tech instrument. They are all effective at reducing pain and increasing function and alignment. Modern electronic multiple-impulse adjusting instruments allow for accurate and effective adjusting without pain on the part of the patient, and do not involve "neck twisting" or "cracking". Patients who are apprehensive about going to a chiropractor's office can now get relief without fear.

In our office, we provide the care that patients need to correct their problems and to achieve their goals. Some patients only require chiropractic adjustments, but many require other advanced treatments to fully recover and excel in their health.
